Sleep!

Well, I'm alive and well. I got to Holly's duplex safely at 11:30 Tuesday night. Wow, I can't believe that Project is over! There is so much to think about and process. God did some pretty amazing things in people's lives this summer (mine especially!). I was stretched and molded in ways that I didn't even know were possible. I know that sounds very general and not specific; I'm still trying to process and evaluate my summer.

Being a leader this summer was a very humbling experience for me. I tend to think that I am a pretty humble person, but God really showed me my heart and that I had a lot to work on in that area. Sometimes seeing your true heart can be an upsetting thing; you can either deny the true and leave it the way it is, or you can start the painful process of cleaning it up and letting God put the pieces back together. I really saw the Father's mercy with me this summer. He still amazes me.

I miss everyone. I woke up Wednesday morning to an air-conditioned room and I was all by my self. I miss the 50 odd people running in and out of our room, I miss my little apartment that I shared a room with 4 other girls. I think I am people deprived (or at least mass people deprived). But, I am so happy to be with Holly! We have had some fun the last couple of nights...which has resulted in her going to bed at midnight (mostly my fault!). Sorry Holly.

I will be leaving Norman August 6th to return to Arizona. So I get the next week and a couple days to relax, hang out, and adjust to real life. God is good.

The Summer is Almost Over

I can't believe that my last day of work is one week from tomorrow! This summer has flown by so fast. Last weekend was the Life Group weekend, so my group stayed in Chicago for the weekend. We walked A LOT! We went to Michigan Ave and looked at all the shops, than we went to Navy Pier, and then the Lincoln Park Zoo where we say lions, tigers, and bears...oh my! It was an interesting experience, I learned a lot about myself and God really stretched me.

Tonight is free night so I am going shopping with some of my girls and then Becca Newman and I (maybe others too) will be eating ice-cream and watching Hitch. Instead of a Christman in July social, this year, we are doing a Halloween (or Fall Festival?) Social. I think I am going to dress up as a Pixie. I don't know...I was never into dressing up...we'll see how creative I want to get.

God's Provision

This week has been challenging for me in a totally different area. I started getting sick last weekend. I HATE to be sick (I know most people don't like being sick obiviously). I hate being sick when I feel like I have so much to do and I don't have time to rest and get better. I want to be multi-tasking. Sometimes I think God allows me to get sick cause He wants me to slow down and trust in Him. So I've been learning about His provision and just how much He cares for me.

The last couple of weeks my tanks have just been feeling really low. I think that I've been running on fumes. Not a good thing. So when I started feeling the cold/flu symptoms on Sunday I was just out of it. The other problem I have is asking for and receiving help. I like to do things on my own and I think some times unconsiously I think that no one really wants to help me. What a lie! Yesterday, I was at work and was feeling like I was going to throw up or pass out. I was struggling with should I just tough it out for the next 3 hours of should I go home and rest. I finally realized that I was holding on to my pride and that wasn't getting me anywhere. So Katherine came to pick me up from work and I've been resting. I have been so blessed by people at the Project. God has just shown me His love for me through them. Random people would just come by and ask if I needed anything and would bring me soup or Gatorade or my favorite candy, and even a cactus to make me feel more at home. A verse I've been mediating on this week, that has really blessed me is 1 Peter 5:7,

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you." (NLT)

This very simple verse has spoken volumes to me this week. Just the simple fact that the Creator of the Universe cares about my worries and cares. And not only that, but He cares about my future and where I am headed. And because He cares He provides exactly what I need when I need it...not because I deserve it in anyway...but because He loves me. Wow. God is good...all the time. I am learning so much (most of it the hard way) but I am thankful that God has patience with me. Okay, I need to got eat and rest a little. Thanks for you prayers and support!
